If we want to be good horseback riders, we have to first understand the nature of the animal. In the same way, if we're going to ride our karma rather than be ridden by it, we first need to understand its nature, and the factors that go into creating and maintaining it, not just intellectually or conceptually, but in a personal, even heartfelt, way. As Suzuki Roshi put it "When you intellectualize life, it will eventually come to a dead end." To gain this heartfelt understanding, I have taken "literary license" by creating my own fiction: Freud was the incarnation of St. Teresa of Avila, and St.Teresa was the incarnation of Cleopatra who was the incarnation of Queen Jezebel who was the incarnation of Helen, Queen of Sparta (aka Helen of Troy) who was the incarnation of the Egyptian Queen Tiye. Some of my posts will use the diary entries of the present-day, fictional incarnation of these six historical figures to illustrate how karma is created, maintained and manifested in the present lifetimes of all of us. ....."I think you are doing a beautiful effort, presenting, many views from different people, and giving people the chance to explore karma further on their own and reach their own conclusions, which is healthy." source: Direct Message from "Noninherently" on Twitter, June 15'09, 22h09
